Sexting etiquette: do it right or don’t do it at all

Two glowing chat bubbles with a heart and a lock

Let’s be adults about this: sexting happens, and between two willing people it can be great. Every disaster story starts the same way — someone skipped the consent part.

The five rules

  • Ask before you escalate. "Can I tell you what I’m thinking?" costs one message and changes everything. An enthusiastic yes is the only green light.
  • Never send unsolicited explicit photos. Not as a "surprise", not as a compliment. It is the fastest way to get blocked and reported — and on Lusya, media stays locked until mutual interest anyway.
  • Match the other person’s pace. If their replies get shorter and cooler, that is your answer. Pull back without sulking.
  • What is shared in the chat stays in the chat. Forwarding someone’s intimate messages or photos is not gossip — in many countries it is a crime.
  • A no is a full sentence. "Not my thing" needs no justification, and arguing with it kills any chance you had.

The mindset

Good sexting is a duet, not a performance. You are reading the room, not broadcasting. Get that right and everything else follows.
